深圳丰巢科技有限公司宣布,自4月30日起,将对滞留快件的非会员用户在超时12小时后收费0.5元/12小时,3元封顶,法定节假日不计费。同步推出的还有会员服务,月卡会员5元/月,季卡会员12元/季,有效期内不限保管次数,每件快件可享受7天免费存放。

Shenzhen Hive Box Technology Co., Ltd (Fengchao) announced that from April 30, it will charge non-members 0.5 yuan per 12 hours if they fail to pick up their packages from its Hive Box terminals within 12 hours. The extra charge will be capped at three yuan, and there will be no charge for legal holidays. The company also launched various services for members, with monthly membership priced at five yuan and seasonal membership at 12 yuan. There will be no limit on the number of times a package can be stored within the membership period. Each package can be stored for seven days.

Many netizens voiced their concerns about the “12-hour storage period,” saying they already had to go out of their way to collect their packages from the terminal, why should they now even be charged for that.

5月10日,浙江、福建、山东等多地明确表示,快递需经收件人同意后方能放置在智能快件箱中。其中,山东省邮政管理局明确回应,未经收件人允许将快递放在快递柜,属于投递不规范行为,可以投诉;福建省消费者委员会也明确表示,未经收件人同意,快件存入快递柜产生的费用应由快递公司承担。

5月9日下午,丰巢科技有限公司发布《东新园业委会事件声明》,称业委会此举违约。
声明称,丰巢依照协议支付场地费为东新园小区业主提供服务,协议不包含对于丰巢营业模式和价格的约束。业主个体是否使用,是否愿意成为会员,已在官方渠道提供自由选择。业委会应当尊重业主个人选择,业委会如执意继续停机,是严重的违约行为。如对合作有异议,需遵照合同约定进行解决。
5月9日晚,丰巢强硬的态度有了变化:公开信称将为符合条件的用户发放红包。
Is the extra fee inevitable?
Hangzhou Dongxinyuan Community Committee recently issued a notice that Fengchao’s overtime charge harmed the residents’ interests, and thus the use of Hive Box will be suspended from 7 a.m. on May 7.
On the afternoon of May 9, Fengchao issued a statement on the suspension of its Hive Box service in the community. It claimed the committee had breached the contract by suspending the service as it had already paid the rent to the committee for the terminals.
On the night of May 9, Fengchao softened its stern attitude, saying it would provide subsidies to its customers.
对于意见较大的“12小时保管期”
丰巢表示,很多社区因场地问题已经不能再增加柜机投放数量了,但为了更好地服务用户,必须不断提高快件领取速度。如果过了这个时间没有取,会影响第二天派件高峰时快递员的正常投递,最终也会影响到用户的体验。
Fengchao said the number of Hive Box terminals could not be increased in many neighborhoods. Therefore, in order to better serve users, it must urge the customers to collect their parcels in time. 智能快递柜一年运维成本有多少?
公开资料显示,从2016年到2018年,丰巢的总资产从13亿元变成了63.11亿元,负债总额从6.3亿元攀升至17.32亿元,而亏损则已经累计超过了10亿。而其2019年亏损达到7.81亿元,加上2020年一季度亏损2.45亿元,一年零三个月时间再亏10亿余元,亏损随着扩张持续增加。
业内人士计算得出,一台智能快递柜一年的运维成本将达到10万元。此前,快递柜的收入来源主要有广告收入、包裹揽件收入、向投递员收取的使用费、消费者逾期取件所支付的费用以及有偿寄存和部分的打赏收费等。
在这种情况下,2017年加入丰巢的一些初创企业,如申通、韵达等纷纷让股离场。丰巢则选择并购行业第二的速递易来扩大规模,减少恶性竞争,一起抱团取暖。最终快递数量到达全国的69%。
Data shows that from 2016-2018, Fengchao’s total assets increased from 1.3 billion yuan to 6.3 billion yuan and total liabilities increased from 630 million yuan to 1.7 billion yuan, while the losses exceeded one billion yuan. The loss in 2019 reached 781 million, plus 245 million yuan in the first quarter of 2020, i.e. another one billion yuan in one year and three months. The loss has gradually increased with the company’s expansion.
Analysts calculate that yearly operation and maintenance cost of one smart terminal could reach 100,000 yuan. Previously, the income sources of Fengchao mainly relied on advertising revenue, package revenue, fees charged to postmen, fees paid by consumers for late delivery, paid storage and part of the reward fees.
Under such circumstances, some start-ups that joined Fengchao in 2017, such as Shentong and Yunda, left the market one after another. Fengchao chose to merge with Sposter by China Post to reduce the competition.
那么向用户收取超时费能盈亏平衡吗?
快递柜寄件服务,因为收费与普通寄件差不多,还有颇为繁琐的操作,远没有在家等快递员1小时内上门来得方便。更不用提在自提柜上购物、使用O2O服务等完全没有使用场景的附加服务。
一言以蔽之,快递柜是在波云诡谲的资本市场中孵化的产品,融的是投资人的钱,在经营中“烧的”钱来自债权人。
四年运营证明快递柜没有足够的造血能力,诱导用户打赏,丰巢收费也实在是经济大环境下的无奈之举。
消费者和丰巢都有自身的苦衷,引发争议是好事,说明消费者的维权意识越来越高了。丰巢的商业模式有成功的地方,经营模式出了问题,如何重新找到平衡点,自然会在试错中找到答案。
In a nutshell, Hive Box is a product incubated in the capital market. Its quick growth is driven by the investor’s money, but with its lack of good operation, it has wasted the creditors’ money.
Customers and Fengchao have their own difficulties. Such controversy could be a good thing, as it indicates that consumers’ awareness of their rights is getting higher. Hive Box could be a success, but if the business model goes wrong, Fengchao must do some serious thinking to strike a balance between profits and consumer rights.
